Meet the Owners

Hi! I'm Misty, the owner and creative heart behind Southern Serenity Picnic Co.

Alongside me is my husband, Rod, who helps bring each event to life. Together, we love creating beautiful spaces where families, friends, and couples can celebrate life's most meaningful moments.

I'm a proud wife, mom of five amazing children, and "Mimi" to six wonderful grandchildren who fill my heart with joy. I'm also currently homeschooling our two youngest sons, ages 15 and 16. Being a homeschool mom has taught me patience, creativity, and the importance of slowing down to enjoy life's special moments—values that inspire every event we create.

For more than 25 years, I've been an entrepreneur, building businesses centered around serving others with excellence. Throughout those years, I've learned that success isn't just about what you provide—it's about how you make people feel.

I've always loved creating beautiful spaces. Whether it's designing an elegant wedding backdrop, styling a romantic proposal, or creating a luxury picnic beneath the beautiful South Carolina sky, I find so much joy in transforming ordinary places into unforgettable experiences.

Rod and I believe every celebration deserves thoughtful attention and genuine care. From the first conversation to the final details on event day, we work together to make the planning process enjoyable and stress-free. Every setup is carefully styled as if we were creating it for our own family.

When I'm not designing events, you'll usually find me behind a camera capturing life's precious moments, spending time with our family, tending to my flower gardens, enjoying the outdoors, or dreaming up new ideas for Southern Serenity Picnic Co.

I believe everyone deserves to feel celebrated, and there's nothing more rewarding than creating a beautiful setting where memories are made and stories begin. That belief is at the heart of everything we do.
